General Raw Hair Care Instructions

1. Always Detangle Hair before Shampooing or CoWashing

Using a wide tooth comb or paddle brush, detangle your extensions from the ends going up as gently as possible. You don't want to tug or pull excessively on the hair. Take your time!

2. Maintain Weekly or Bi-Weekly Shampooing & Conditioning

The SBM Raw Hair Extensions are 100% Raw human hair and need to be conditioned regularly. Always use high-quality shampoo and moisturizing conditioner. When conditioning, allow the product to remain on the hair at least 5 minutes with heat if possible for maximum conditioning.

Biweekly, use shampoo and lukewarm water. Apply conditioner and let your hair sit for a while. Rinse with lukewarm water and the final rinse with cold water. Always air dry your hair instead of blow drying, if possible. (Cowash or deep condition whenever you like!)

3. Always Wrap or Cover your Extensions at Night

It is very important for both your natural hair and your extensions that you cover your hair at night while sleeping. You can use a satin bonnet or scarf. If your extensions are textured or curly, you may want to use flexi rods to help maintain the curls. You can also put large twists or braids in to maintain the wave pattern. Never go to sleep without wrapping your hair!

4. Avoid Excessive Heat

Excessive heat will cause the hair to break down, dry out, and become damaged. Also, try to avoid excessive passes with the flat iron or curling iron. This is especially important with curly and wavy hair. Using too much heat will destroy the curl pattern and prevent your extensions from lasting as long as they should.
